I was elected to Cornwall Council in 2021. My committee responsibilities span several areas of governance and oversight, including the Budget Development Overview & Scrutiny Panel, Corporate Finance & Performance Overview & Scrutiny Committee, Constitution & Governance Committee, Standards Committee, and the Chief Officers Employment Committee. I also represent Cornwall Council on the Cornwall Airport Newquay Consultative Forum. Before entering local politics, I built my career in software engineering spanning over two decades, primarily working with .NET and cloud technologies. I founded Email Hippo, a UK-based email verification and validation service, which I continue to run as CEO. That technical background has directly shaped how I approach my council work. I believe residents deserve better tools for engaging with their elected representatives, and I've put that belief into practice by building the Casework platform — the system you're using right now. It's designed to make it straightforward for you to raise issues, track their progress, and see real outcomes. My priorities centre on accountability and accessibility. I want to ensure the current administration is held to proper scrutiny, that residents have a genuine voice, and that the mechanics of local government are visible rather than opaque. Whether it's a pothole, a planning concern, or a question about council spending, I want the process of raising it to be as simple and transparent as possible. I've lived in Cornwall since 2007, with my wife Lisa, our daughter, and two French Bulldogs called Buster and Jago. Cornwall is home, and I'm committed to making sure it works well for the people who live here.
